Who is responsible

Quantsurv is the data controller responsible for the personal information collected through this website and in business enquiries. In this notice, we, us and our refer to Quantsurv.

Enquiries

If you send an enquiry, we collect your name, email address and message. Your company or trading name and phone number are optional. The form also tells us which page you came to it from. We use these details to keep a record of your enquiry, to send you an email confirming it has arrived, and to reply to it.

The choice to receive occasional updates from Quantsurv (new articles, free templates and guides) is separate from the enquiry itself. The box for it is unticked: we send you updates only if you tick it, and otherwise nothing but the reply to your enquiry. Whether you ticked it, and the exact wording you were shown, are recorded with the submission, and every update carries an unsubscribe link. The box on the template download form works the same way.

Template downloads

When you ask for a template or another download, we collect your email address and, where the form asks for them, your first name, company or trading name and current concern. We also note which download you asked for and the page you asked from. If you answer the questions on a service page to get a report, we also keep your answers and, if you give it, the name of your main contractor. We use these details to confirm your email address, send you the file or report, and keep a record of the download. We also use a report's answers to prepare for any call you have with us, and your main contractor's name to check we are free to act.

You do not have to agree to updates to get a download. A separate, unticked box lets you choose occasional updates from Quantsurv. The emails that confirm your address and send you the file are sent either way.

Once your address is confirmed, the site sets an essential cookie that remembers it in that browser, so you are not asked to confirm it again for your next download. The cookie lasts a year, and choosing to use a different email address clears it.

Booking a call

The booking page shows Microsoft Bookings. If you use it, what you enter goes to Microsoft through that booking service, so the appointment, the confirmation and the calendar invitation can be arranged. You can use our Get in touch form or email us instead.

Site measurement

We measure how the site is used with Ahrefs Web Analytics, a service of Ahrefs, which is based in Singapore. It uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, so there is nothing to accept or decline.

When you view a public page, we send Ahrefs the page's address, with everything removed except any campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content). We also send the address of the page you came from, reduced in the same way when it is one of ours, your screen size and your browser's language. Ahrefs also reads your browser, operating system and type of device from the request, and your approximate location (country and city) from your IP address. Pages that carry a verification or download link, and other private pages, are not measured.

To count each day's unique visitors without identifying anyone, Ahrefs combines your IP address and browser details with a random value that it replaces every 24 hours. It keeps only the scrambled result, and does not store the IP address itself. The same person on two different days is counted as two visitors.

We also record a few actions: an enquiry being sent, a template being requested, a free report being started, its questions being completed and its request being accepted, and clicks on Get in touch and on our email, LinkedIn and booking links. Each records only the page it happened on, never anything you type. Ahrefs also records clicks on links to other websites.

We use these statistics to see which pages are useful and how people find the site, so we can improve it. Ahrefs processes the data on our behalf under its data processing terms, which cover transfers from the UK. Measurement runs only on www.quantsurv.com: development and preview copies of the site are not measured.

How long we keep records

We keep enquiry, download and consent records only as long as we need them for the purposes above. We have not set a fixed period after which they are deleted automatically, and you can ask us to delete your details at any time. Confirmation links expire after 7 days and download links after 30 days, and the cookie that remembers your confirmed email address expires after a year. None of these expiries deletes the record itself.

Services used to handle information

Information you send through the site is stored with our website host and database provider. Our emails, including confirmations, download links and any updates you choose, are sent through Resend. Microsoft Bookings handles anything you enter when booking a call, and Ahrefs provides the site measurement described above, on www.quantsurv.com only.

Work with us

The Work with us form is for freelance work, future opportunities and applications for any roles we advertise. You can register whether or not a role is open. We keep what you send in a private recruitment record, separate from enquiries and downloads, and review it ourselves.

The form collects your name, email, optional telephone number, town or region and country, and your work and travel preferences. It also collects the skills you tell us you have, your relevant experience, any qualifications or memberships, your start date and availability, and the kind of work you want. A CV and a work or portfolio link are optional, and you can describe your experience in the form instead. Please do not send your full home address, identity documents, date of birth, referees' details or any client's confidential material.

We keep this information so we can consider you for work and contact you about it. A CV is kept as a private file: it is never published or sent on as an email attachment. Every file is checked for unsafe content first, and a file that fails the check is set aside and not passed on for review.

We review every registration by hand, against what you have told us and, for an application, what the role needs. Registering, or listing a skill, is not an offer of work. Nothing is selected or rejected automatically. Registering does not sign you up to any mailing list, and we cannot promise a reply by a set date.

To update, reconfirm or withdraw your details, email contact@quantsurv.com with your submission reference. We check that the request is yours before acting on it, so please do not send identity documents. We record when your details were received and last confirmed, and any changes and decisions.

We keep recruitment records only as long as we need them to consider you for work. We have not set a fixed period after which they are deleted automatically, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
