Quarrying and aggregates

Quantity surveying and claims support for quarry infrastructure, aggregate handling facilities and associated construction.

Commercial challenges and how we approach them

Quarry-related construction can include access roads, drainage, foundations, workshops and handling facilities. Equipment installation and ongoing extraction may sit outside the construction appointment. Clear boundaries keep those activities separate from the work being priced and valued.

Crushing and screening upgrades during production

The Challenge

Replacing a crusher, screen or conveyor can require a short shutdown and temporary material-handling arrangements. Discoveries at existing foundations or transfer points can extend the outage.

Our approach

We establish the condition and outage assumptions behind the price. Once the existing line is opened up, discoveries and technical instructions are recorded separately from the recovery measures taken to reopen it. Extra foundation work and an instructed extra shift may arise from the same event, but need different quantity and resource evidence in the account.

Wash-plant water and fines-handling scope

The Challenge

The wash-plant quotation may omit the water-recycling, fines-handling and civil work needed to make it operate.

Our approach

We reconcile the equipment order with those supporting packages before award, making missing connections and attendances visible.

Product specification and acceptance testing

The Challenge

A plant's output depends on its feed. If the trial material or required grading differs from the agreed basis, further trials can become a dispute over whether the supplier has completed its obligation.

Our approach

We review the agreed trial inputs, responsibilities and acceptance conditions with the process team, then assess any additional testing against the actual records.
