Subcontract tender pricing

For subcontractors

Build or check your trade tender with supported costs, clear exclusions and a price you can approve.

What is it?

We reconcile supplier prices and labour allowances against the subcontract scope, then identify the margin and risk decisions that remain yours. A check of an existing tender estimate, or preparation of a new price for one agreed tender issue. We confirm the packages, pricing lines, options and any submission documents included.

Full remeasurement, new quotations, changed tender issues, additional options and submission on your behalf are separately scoped.

How does it work?

  1. You explain the work and the decision you need

You describe your trade package and the contractor who appointed you, the result you need and any urgent dates. The introductory conversation checks fit and availability; substantive assessment starts under an accepted instruction.

  2. We agree the scope, responsibilities and fee

We check suitability, conflicts and capacity, then agree the scope, deliverables and timetable in writing, with a fixed fee or agreed hourly or daily basis. We explain payment terms, VAT and any separate costs before you accept. We agree review or preparation, packages, pricing lines, quotation enquiries and the submission deadline. You retain the decision to tender and responsibility for the final commercial offer. We confirm responsibility for urgent actions and specialist input.

  3. You accept the scope and provide the information

You accept the written scope and provide the tender invitation, drawings, specification, pricing schedule, proposed terms, programme, supplier quotations and any existing estimate. You identify missing items and the versions supplied; we agree who will obtain anything still needed.

  4. We check the records and resolve gaps

We check the documents against the agreed scope, dates and versions, raise queries and record the basis on which work can proceed. Missing evidence stays identified; we agree any limited assessment or pause affected work until essential information is available. Live deadlines continue to run.

  5. We check the tender scope and obligations

We check trade boundaries, attendance by others, design responsibility, programme and qualifications needed to avoid pricing an incomplete package.

  6. We build or examine the price

We check quantities, resource allowances and quotations, reconcile exclusions and apply the agreed rates, preliminaries, overheads, profit and risk treatment. We identify expired quotes and missing prices rather than silently treating them as firm.

  7. We check the return and qualifications

We check arithmetic, scope coverage, consistency with the tender instructions and the effect of proposed qualifications. We give you the price basis, unresolved risks and any decisions needed before submission.

  8. You approve the commercial offer

You approve the price, qualifications and commitments. We prepare or check the agreed return; submission is by the named authorised person before the verified deadline, with a copy and receipt retained.

  9. We explain the result and complete the handover

We issue the checked estimate or tender return for the instructed stage, with assumptions and the approved qualifications, explain the findings and record unresolved items, next actions, owners and dates. We answer the included clarification and correct our errors. New information, changed scope and later stages need a separate agreement; you decide whether to instruct them.

We confirm timing after checking the scope and available records. Flag any live deadline when you enquire; it continues to run while information is gathered.

What do you get?

You receive the outputs for the stages you choose. Each stage has its own scope, fee and endpoint; later stages are optional.

  • Estimate check: arithmetic, scope coverage, quotation qualifications, allowances and priority queries.
  • Estimate preparation: an agreed pricing build-up and qualifications; submission documents only where instructed.

Each fixed piece of work includes one consolidated clarification round requested within 10 working days of issue, unless agreed otherwise. New records or scope need a separate agreement; we correct our own errors without charge.
