## Further detail

Read this alongside [SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol](<https://www.scl.org.uk/sites/default/files/documents/SCL_Delay_Protocol_2nd_Edition_Final.pdf>).

A measured-mile assessment uses the project’s own productivity records where a sound comparison is available. The compared work should be sufficiently similar in scope, method, resources and conditions. Explain adjustments for differences and limitations in the records. A favourable week selected without checking comparability can overstate the result.

Record why the comparison period was chosen and test alternative explanations. The [records and evidence guide](<https://www.quantsurv.com/library/claim-records-and-evidence>) explains how to keep the assessment traceable. Our [Delay and disruption cost recovery](<https://www.quantsurv.com/claims?service=%2Fdelay-and-disruption%2Fservices%2Fdelay-disruption-recovery#client-types>) can help assess the commercial claim using the available productivity and cost records.
